Sue Westin Commissions Sue Westin Human Portraits Procedure & Fees Procedure The portrait procedure begins with a meeting either at one's home or my studio. We will discuss ideas for the basic composition, size, possible settings, choices for clothing, props, lighting, backgrounds and budget.   One or more photo sessions will occur after which I will analyze the photographs and then discuss them with the client to help determine a choice of composition. There will be a fee for the photo session. That fee will is absorbed into the total cost of the portrait. Usually I will make a rough sketch to clarify the basic ideas and composition. At that point we will determine the final size, cost and payment plan for the portrait and both parties will sign a contract. The initial down-payment to begin the painting is usually one third, unless otherwise agreed.
